Rock School Bus

Rock School Bus provides music experiences for children and young people with the core belief that participating in music activities improves mental health and wellbeing. Equipped with sound system, real instruments and expert tutors, the bus makes music education fun, accessible, and hands-on for everyone. Our fantastic team are passionate about inspiring creativity and teamwork.

Our mission is to make music inclusive, helping young people express themselves, build confidence, and experience the joy and positive impact of music.

Rock School Bus is a Community Interest Company (not-for-profit).

Our Team

Our team of musicians, facilitators and other creatives are all passionate about offering people the opportunities that we have had to experience music and develop interest and ability. We are very proud of the positive effect we are having on people’s lives.

Amber

Amber Sinclair

Director and Practioner

Amber is a highly qualified musician and educator, holding a B.A.(Hons) from London's prestigious Mountview Academy and over a decade of international performance experience, including London's West End. As a qualified teacher since 2010, she has worked extensively in Spalding and Rutland schools and is a sought-after peripatetic teacher, especially valued for her flexible, child-led approach with neurodiverse students. She brings this extensive industry background to create fully inclusive and highly successful work for children of all backgrounds and abilities.

Patrick

Patrick Walsh

Music Practitioner

Patrick is a young and inspiring guitar specialist with a passion for sharing his love of music. Drawing on years of performing experience and his music degree from Anglia Ruskin University, Patrick brings creativity, skill, and enthusiasm to every project he’s involved in — from live performances to mentoring the next generation of musicians.

Ellie

Ellie Matthews

Volunteer Learning Assistant

Ellie is a lifelong music enthusiast and has assisted with social media, sales and promotion for a folk-punk band. Professionally, she is a patient and personable individual with a B.A. (Hons) in Humanities. She recently worked in the SEND department at a local primary school, completing both safeguarding and SEND training. She previously supported volunteers at Citizens Advice. Ellie also has personal experience of helping people with ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia.

Abbi

Abbi Thompson

Co-director

Abbi is the owner and director of Diamondz School of Dance, which she has successfully run for over 17 years. A lifelong dancer and producer, she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her role as a co-director of Rock School Bus. She also believes that the arts are essential for fostering positive mental health and wellbeing in children and young people. Through her work, Abbi is dedicated to creating inclusive and supportive spaces where students can thrive.

Would you like to spend more time making music with professional musicians AND earn a nationally recognised qualification?

Bronze Arts Award

We will be running a 12 week programme, beginning in February*, where you can achieve a Bronze Arts Award. This is a nationally recognised qualification (equal to Level 1/GCSE 1-4) and are suitable for those aged 11 - 16. years. Sessions will run on a Saturday during term time 11am – 1pm in Pode Hole *(Spalding) and will be made up of a variety of activities: learning songs, exploring other musicians and bands, attending an arts event and sharing your skills with others. Silver Arts Award

We will be running a 12 week programme, beginning in September*, where you can achieve a Silver Arts Award (equivalent to Level 2/GCSE 4-9) and are suitable for anyone who has completed their Bronze Arts Award or those aged 14-18 years. Sessions will run on a Saturday during term time 11am – 3:30pm in Pode Hole and will be made up of a variety of activities: learning songs from different genres, researching arts organisations, careers and practitioners, reviewing arts events and leading your own project.
